poosac

When I was little (circa 1980), I had a cuddly handmade pink monkey. I truly loved her. Pinky was my everything. I never let go until one leg and both arms fell off. Aaaargh. I wish I knew how to sew! :( Then I grew up... saw less of those hand-sewn plushies... and somewhat forgot about Pinky. :(

Fast forward to the present... THANK GOD FOR ETSY!!! Etsy is indeed a goldmine of awesome handmade lovelies. Yes, I'm huge on nice illustration but I also go gaga over delicious 3Ds... like these beautiful hand-sewn dolls by Poosac (Scotland, UK)!

Kim, the person behind Poosac, is an Edinburgh-based artist who specialises in wrong weird quirky-looking characters, all with a kick of modern and a splash of cutesy.

I love the choice of fabrics and the long, skinny, dangly limbs juxtaposed against the stocky frame. Aww... won't they look great on desks, shelves and couches?!

Poosac dolls may be purchased online at etsy.com/shop/poosac. Feel free to show some lovin'!

katy pillinger

Katy Pillinger is a UK based artist and a damn good sewer! She makes the cutest plushies, cosies, brooches, magnets and stuff. <Drool, baby!>

Katy also makes nice illustration. Interestingly, her illustration style is totally different from her whimsy cutesy fabric pieces.

<Shoutout to Katy: I LOVE YOUR CARDS!>
